Consultation, scissor cut to length, a hot towel laid on the back of the neck, and a straight-razor finish on the hairline. The standard here. Every barber in the shop does this one the same way.

Every service is priced on the board and stays there. No surprises, no upcharges for straight-razor work — that is how every service closes.
The Chair
A clean taper brought down to the skin, blended by hand through three guards, and finished tight with the straight razor on the neckline and temples. No clipper marks, no hard lines left rough.
A full scissor cut or fade paired with a shaped beard — trimmed to proportion, oiled, and edged with a hot-towel line-up and straight razor. Better together. The most common booking at Union.
For the young gentlemen, twelve and under. The same care, a little more patience, and the full finish. First cut at Union is always on the house — they sit in the big chair and they earn it.
The Blade
Two hot towels to open the pores, hand-lathered with a badger brush, the full traditional close shave with the grain and once against. A cold towel and tonic to close. This is the original reason anyone sits down in a barber chair.
Trimmed to your face, not a template. Shaped by scissors and comb first, then the straight razor draws the edges clean — neckline, cheeks, the corners of the mustache. Finished with a conditioning beard oil.
The complete ritual. A scissor cut, a traditional straight-razor shave, two hot towels through the whole process, and a pour of whiskey when it is done. The chair is yours until you are finished. Book ahead for this one.
A quiet, natural softening of the grey — blended in, not covered over. Adds a few minutes to any cut on the board. Most clients take it home before their next visit before they decide they like it better.
Append anything to the board.
A few extras worth asking about. Each one added to any service, no fuss.
The board is set. The chair is ready.
Walk through the door when it suits you, or hold a time ahead. Either way, it ends the same — clean lines and a straight razor.
